Yet Another Year Older

It was that time of year when I get older, I don’t tend to celebrate much but I like to do something to mark the occasion. This year my birthday fell on the kids last day before they returned to school so we went to English Heritage‘s Wrest Park for the day.

We have been to Wrest Park a few times over the years and we really enjoy watching the renovation of the house and the vast gardens. It makes a change to see empty rooms in a stately home but I think that it adds to the charm. Out on the veranda you look down over an tranquil garden with a long rectangular pond . The grounds are a lovely place to wander and eat lunch.

We had such an enjoyable day, Nan & Grandad joined us too. Just need to decide where to go next year!
